Dr. Peter D’Amore is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic spine surgeon specializing in treating spinal disorders affecting the neck and back. He has extensive experience managing various conditions such as degenerative discs, herniated discs, spinal stenosis, radiculopathy, cervical myelopathy, spinal fractures, and spondylolisthesis.

 

Dr. D’Amore had the privilege of completing his fellowship training at the world-renowned Harvard Medical School – Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. During his fellowship, he gained experience in cutting-edge minimally invasive techniques. His extensive training encompasses a range of advanced procedures, including motion-sparing, ultrasonic, endoscopic, and robotic spine surgery.

 

Dr. D’Amore is a proud Floridian originally from Orlando, Florida. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the University of Florida, where he played lacrosse and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry. He earned his medical degree from the FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami, Florida. Subsequently, he completed his internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at Louisiana State University New Orleans. During his residency, Dr. D’Amore was selected as Chief Resident in his final year. He received accolades such as the Andrew G.S. King Teaching Award and the Jack L. Winters Research Award. Additionally, he was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

 

Dr. D’Amore has published numerous articles on orthopaedic topics and spinal disorders. In addition, he has presented research at multiple national and international conferences, receiving recognition and various awards for research contributions during his training.

 

Dr. D’Amore believes in the importance of patient education and shared decision-making. He strives to provide each patient with a customized treatment plan tailored to their needs and goals. Dr. D’Amore takes the time to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and expected outcomes thoroughly. He empowers patients to make informed decisions about their care.

 

Dr. D’Amore utilizes a combination of conservative interventions to alleviate pain, restore function, and improve quality of life. If conventional treatments prove ineffective, he offers patients the latest advancements in surgical techniques to eliminate pain and optimize function safely. In addition, he leverages both traditional and minimally invasive techniques when appropriate, ensuring exceptional care toward a swift recovery.

 

As an active member of professional organizations, Dr. D’Amore is affiliated with the North American Spine Society, The Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, AO Spine, and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.

 

In his leisure time, Dr. D’Amore enjoys working out, spending quality time with his wife, and golfing. He considers it an honor to care for his fellow Floridians. He strives to provide the highest standard of care to every patient.
