About Dr. Blum
Dr. Blum is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and holds a Subspecialty Certificate in Surgery of the Hand. He received his undergraduate degree (B.S., 1990) and medical degree (M.D., 1994) from the University of Florida. After completing a surgical internship at Orlando Regional Medical Center, he did an orthopaedic surgery research fellowship which involved publishing research papers and presenting at orthopaedic meetings.
Dr. Blum completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School in 2001. He completed his hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh in 2002.
Before joining Orthopaedic Center of South Florida, Dr. Blum had a very successful solo practice. He began practicing in Plantation in 2002. He is known in the community for his excellent and compassionate care for his patients. He won the Patients Choice Award and Most Compassionate Doctor Award, as voted on by patients, several times.
Dr. Blum is on the cutting edge in minimally invasive surgeries and procedures such as ultrasound-guided trigger finger release, endoscopic carpal tunnel release, collagenase injections for Dupuytren’s contractures, as well as wrist and finger arthroscopy. He also has expertise in the management of complex wrist and hand fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, nerve injuries, and industrial injuries.
Dr. Blum is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and several other medical societies.
