I Have an Acute Injury

Welcome to Orthopaedic Center of South Florida! We treat thousands of injuries every year and we can help you find relief too.

If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 and ask to be taken to an emergency room for evaluation.

Make an appointment right away!

Many patients delay in making an appointment because they are not sure if their injury is serious enough to warrant an office visit. Prompt treatment of your injury may prevent complications, permanent damage, or the need for surgery. It's critical that you contact us as soon as possible to be seen and evaluated by one of our specialists.

We offer rapid access for severe injuries

We offer rapid access for appointments. During the week, the time between when you first call us and when you are seen by one of our providers rarely exceeds 24 hours. We can treat almost any type of orthopedic injury in our offices; however, for extremely serious injuries such as shoulder dislocations, hip injuries, or serious fractures you should go directly to the emergency room.

Relieve pain and swelling right away

You should apply the RICE method to relieve pain and swelling immediately after an injury. RICE stands for:

  • Rest
  • Ice
  • Compression
  • Elevation

In order to provide you with the best possible care we will need to know the following information:

  • When and where did the injury happen?
  • Did you go to the ER?
  • Did you take X-Rays or other diagnostic imaging? If so, where?
  • Is it a work-related or auto-related injury?
  • What kind of treatments or medication have you already taken for the injury?
