Marisel Medina, MD

Dr. Medina is a board eligible Podiatrist specializing in the treatment of foot and ankle problems. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando in 1998, and her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine Degree from Barry University in 2003. While at Barry University, Dr. Medina was the recipient of several awards for outstanding achievements in Biomechanics, Orthopaedics as well as clinical evaluation.

After successfully completing her DPM, Dr. Medina went on to excel in a comprehensive three year surgical residency program with emphasis on trauma, sports medicine, and diabetic limb salvage of the foot and ankle at the Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami, Florida. Besides being the first female resident in the program, she was picked to be the Chief Resident serving two years in that capacity. Dr. Medina continues to give back to the community she serves as a teaching/Adjunct Professor at the Medical Center, where she is also on staff. Dr. Medina is also on staff at the Fort Lauderdale Surgery Center at Westside Regional Medical Center, Plantation as well as the Surgery Center of Weston.

Advanced and ongoing education by specialty seminars as well as workshops remain a part of Dr. Medina’s quest for excellence in patient care. She is fluent in Spanish and English and thus well positioned to care for the large Spanish speaking population in our area.

In her free time, Dr. Medina enjoys a wide variety of sports including, snorkeling, dance aerobics, cycling and running.
